To begin working in Converge, you’ll first need to select assets on the map. This allows you to run reports, export data, or investigate further. Here are three ways to make your selection:
1. Select Assets Using the Map
Start by navigating to your area of interest:
- Zoom or pan to the desired location manually, or
- Use the search bar to enter a location using DLS, NTS, or Latitude/Longitude coordinates.
Once you're in the right area:
- Use the rectangular or spatial selection tools from the toolbar to draw your selection.
- The selected assets will appear in the data panel below the map.
- You can clear your selection at any time to start over.
2. Use the Query Builder
The Query Builder allows you to search for assets using specific criteria:
- Filter by Pipelines, Facilities, Wells, or Incidents.
- Narrow your search using fields like Licensee, Risk Consequence, Status, Specification, or Hierarchy.
Once your query is built:
- Results will be highlighted on the map and listed in the data panel.
- You can save your query for future use by clicking the save icon below the query.
To save a query:
- Choose or create a group name.
- Enter a custom name for your query.
- Access saved queries anytime by clicking the folder icon in the query bar.
- From there, you can edit, manage, or delete saved queries.
Tip: If you're working with Crossings, make sure to enable the Crossing Thematic layer in your map. This is required to run a Pipeline Crossing Report.
3. Import a Selection
If you already have a list of pipelines:
- Use the provided Selection Template to prepare your list.
- Click Import from the side panel.
- Choose Converge Pipeline List and upload your file.
- Return to the map to view your imported selection.
Next Steps
Once your assets are selected:
- Go to Asset Management to view detailed information.
- Review associated documents or add comments.
- Use the Export option to download a Report or Shapefile.
