Corporate Hierarchy allows you to create a grouping of pipelines. You can use this grouping to search or filter your assets. You can also assign or edit risk factors specific to these groupings. For example, you may want to create a hierarchy to manage risk profiles for aboriginal land concerns, inactive or abandoned pipeline risk compared to operating pipelines, or for managing risk based on mitigation plans.

To get started, select Asset Management then Corporate Hierarchy.

If you have already imported hierarchies based on area, district and field attributes, there will be prepopulated profiles listed here. Otherwise, this table might appear blank.

You'll want to start by creating a Corporate Hierarchy profile. Navigate to the Corporate Hierarchies page under Asset Management. To build a new profile, click Create New Hierarchy. You can update an existing one by clicking the edit icon to the left of the name.

You can update the name and description from here.

You will also find a drop down for Risk Profile. This will allow you to apply any of the risk profiles you've created to the hierarchy.

To add assets into your hierarchy, begin with a selection on the map. You can either run a query, use the selection tool, or run the selection import list.

Once your selection has been made, click Save from the map toolbar.

This will open up a prompt which will allow you to save your grouping to a particular hierarchy. You will find your created Hierarchy Profiles in the dropdown under Hierarchy Name. You'll also be able to see how many pipelines will be updated. Click Save once you've reviewed the edits.

You can remove any pipelines by clicking the delete icon next to their name. The list will automatically be saved.

Once your hierarchy has been created, you can run a query to add it into your selection. Under Hierarchy, you will see a drop down for Corporate Hierarchy which will have all your profiles. You can also use Not Set to find results for pipelines that might not have been added to any existing hierarchies yet.

Then, click Save from the map toolbar to add your selection to an existing Hierarchy Profile.

If you'd like to merge multiple hierarchies together, use the query builder to build a selection of all sets of assets.

Run the query as usual, and select save from the map toolbar. You will be shown the save to hierarchy box, and here you can select which hierarchy profile you'd like to merge the assets into.

You can use the User Edit History report to verify your changes.
